Secretary Raimondo Pushes for Women in Workforce

The secretary highlights efforts made by the Department of Commerce in her press release.

Following Women’s History Month, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo highlighted efforts made by her department to invest in the employment of women. The CHIPS and Science Act offers a number of investments into union and STEM program training for women, with the goal of training and hiring an additional million women into manufacturing and construction jobs in the next decade.

“We must ensure that Americans across the country, including women, can access the skills and training they need so they can benefit from the good jobs created by these programs,” Secretary Raimondo said in her statement. “And we need to expand more opportunities for women to get careers that pay better and pay equally. It’s not just a matter of fairness – it makes economic sense.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That Secretary Raimondo continues to lead the Department of Commerce with every American demographic in mind.
  • That Women’s History Month effectively showcased the experiences specific to women.
  • For administration officials as they continue to implement the many programs of the CHIPS and Science Act.
